This was my first time going to Chino for an airshow. I signed up for the sunrise access to get some morning shots and all in all it worked out ok. This was a great show with a lot of vintage planes flying and the F-22 Raptor. I'll definitely be back for this show next year. Here are some of the shots i came away with. C&C always appreciated.

Great images! May I ask what shutter speed you used? We'll be going to an airshow at the end of this month and I'd like to get that kind of prop effect.

Regrettably I'll only have 135mm of reach, but that's 216mm effective on a crop body. Fingers crossed they fly close!

If you go to the page on my site you can click on the info text underneath the picture on the right to get all of the EXIF info. Mostly for props i either used 1/100 or 1/60 and jets 1/1250 or 1/1600.

Keep in mind shooting props at 1/60 and you most likely will get a lot of throw aways...especially panning at your maximum zoom.

Good luck! :)

You got lucky this year with the weather. The last few years, the marine layer has always rolled in during the sunrise. In fact one year, we had rain before the show but it cleared up and was very beautiful with nice blue skies.

It was hotter than normal as well. Funny how a few days things can change. The highs are now back down in the low 70s.

Glad you enjoyed the show.
