Can you use 3.3 in CS, or are you limited to 3.1 only? I was trying a demo version of CS2 and converted too many pics, forgetting all about the plug-in. Hoping I don't have to reconvert. Ah well, if I do, I'll never forget this lesson again. :)

Thanks,
SArah

You shouldn't have any problems using it.

Alas, didn't work.

I remember there was some weird setup with my previous computer. I had to use one version to convert the XT files, and a different one in CS to read the files.

I may be misunderstanding your question, but to my knowledge the latest ACR to work with CS was 2.4. ACR 3.x needs CS2

All is not lost!

The DNG converter runs in PSCS. Using DNG to convert all of your RAW to DNG allows you to then open the DNG files in PSCS ACR v2.4. It's a workaround that allows you to avoid buying PSCS2.

Robert,

Does the DNG convertor work inside the PSCS environment or is it a stand alone program?? Would be good if it could be used from 'File Browser' window for example.

Cheers
Mark.

Which version of DNG should I use? I think 3.1 was the first that supported XT--does it work with the other versions? I've also downloaded ACR 2.4. It didn't work yesterday, but with all the ACR back and forth, I may have ended up with the wrong version. I'll give it another shot tonight when I'm home.

Thanks!

ACR 2.4 is the latest and almost certainly the last version for Photoshop CS. Install that and stay with it.

For the DNG Converter, I'd use the latest 3.3 version - though any version from 3.1 onwards should work with EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT) files.

Yeah, good luck on that. There are a lot of things that I wish were runnable from within PSCS, but so far as I know, DNG is strictly stand-alone. Something tells me that if I were to research it better, there might be a way to make it work, on demand, from within PSCS, but I haven't felt the need.
