7D Eroor Message

I have gotten an error message on my camera a few times while shooting, the LCD goes blank and them gives me an error message say "turn off/on camera and/or reinstall battery"
i have a battery grip on my camera (not canon) another brand and ive had to take both batteries out and start up again for my camera to turn on and continue shooting.
Can anyone tell me if they've had this problem before or whats the cause?

yeah the error message does have a number code i dont remember it but it says to turn off camera and reinstall battery

Well, for anyone to be able to give any kind of relevant comment regarding whether they've had the same issue as you have or not, the error code seems pretty important to know, don't you think?

Well, if it happens again, take a better look then.

If not, well, then problem solved!

I've been shooting with my 7D for 2 years now and have never received any errors.

There is a list of error codes at the back of the 7D owner's guide. (P 249 of the English language manual). The "Turn camera on/off and remove battery" advice only applies to the undefined error codes (10 through 80).

If nobody here can help, you'll have to contact Canon (with the error code) to find out what's going on.
