I remember my grandmother telling me how she loved the sound of the Bobolink's song. Now they're quite rare, but I saw 3 together in a bush today, singing to beat the band, and eating some spring buds. Now I know why my grandmother liked their song.

Dear Ian,

Great work and a nice find!

Nice pics.

I know about common becoming rare and vice versa. In my western province, Mule Deer were once common, now rare, mostly because of the invasive species (for here) the White Tail Deer. On the other hand, Canada Geese were at once uncommon ('60's) out here....now everywhere you turn around you see a Canada.

Beautiful images Ian! We have some here, but they're so shy, haven't been able to catch one yet, along with the 'Kingfishers'....

Do any of you have any whip-poor-will's ? I haven't heard those since I was very young in northern Michigan back in the '50's.
