The male mallard developed an amorous intent toward this female but she would not consent. He chased her several laps on the ground, down to the lake, then back onto the ground. Finally she took to the air to run away, quacking loudly all the way. He would not give up and this chase ensued. They eventually flew behind a tree stand along the lake and I could not see if she was able to run from this fellow or not.

Nicely done Linh!
That's a great study of in-flight attitude, with his obviously more amorous than hers based on your story. Excellent execution.

She had no amorous intent at all. In fact, she would have called 911 if she could :D
