Went out the other day mostly just on a whim and ended up w/ decent light situation and some obliging hummers. Just got lousy BG! Didn't even take my tripod out-these are handheld(w/IS lens). Only about 12-13' away sitting next to my house.

She had to light right next to the S. hook!

He did better
IMAGE: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad62/ardeekay_photo/_MG_0816_edited-2.jpg

There's that hook again!
IMAGE: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad62/ardeekay_photo/_MG_0842_edited-2.jpg

Essentially the same shot-I was on a roll!

Tried to clone out that @#% hook-obviously my skills here (and my patience) are limited.

Thanks for looking.

They're definitely a challenge Rog, and you're doing way better than me!
The first 2 are nicely posed and captured, and the IFs aren't bad. It must be like what they say about business success.....location, location, location. We'll both keep after `em :)

Heard that about buying a home, too(which might be easier than photographing hummers;)) Thanks, Steve.

Thank you, Carol. Unfortunately, if this year follows the previous years' patterns, these may be the last shots of the males. A female establishes my feeder as her exclusive property and chases everyone else off. Bummer! In fact, think I'll post a question in "Bird Talk" section about this. Thanks again.
