Richard, I can honestly say that I never looked up a propeller shaft tube before!! What a great pic.

Stina, those are wonderful. I wish I had a view like that from inside my house!

I've been busy with photographing birds plus after half a week I still have no idea for a subject for this week's theme. I'm hopeless! I'll think of something though. I always do, even if it doesn't exactly fit the subject. :p :D

Loving the pictures, Ricardo and John!
I took a couple shots today and I'll try to process them in a little bit.

Very cool pic JohnB.

Another good one Ricardo

Nothing from me yet. Been super busy trying to get my house painted. Did get a pic this morning of a bull moose in the backyard, but it doesn't seem to fit the theme all that well. Keep those pics coming folks. I enjoy them.:)

Thanks guys.

Stina, love that skull interior, and your views are always superb. I have to say that only in particular light can I take pics through most of our windows...our very odd shaped house perches awkwardly on a hill and you need scaffolding to get at most of it!

Hey John, interesting shower pic, but a super-wide-angle lens might have made it even more interesting...assuming it was in use at the time!:D

I have to say that the lads in the boatbuilding workshop made some rude comments about my deviant ways as I made that shot....:o

We turned over a new workboat yesterday...a 26m aluminium vessel for marine farming, and I took the liberty of looking inside her....right up her propeller shaft tube!

That's definitely inside Ricardo. Very cool and creative, and well photographed.:)

I managed (until now) not to say anything about your calling the craft "her." The word "upskirt" does come to mind.

You don't want to see my house, it's a bit rough. The only thing nice about my house, is the view and the land.

Now I'm visualizing a log cabin with a dirt floor. But you have such an interesting "yard": cattle, horses, wildflowers, snakes, deer, eagles . . .

I haven't worked up an idea yet for Inside/Outside. Still trying to think.

:D That made me smile. Yes...all boats are "her" it seems...something to do with them being somewhat capricious I believe, but what would an old sailor know? As for that shot...as I mentioned, the boat-builders made some rather rude comments about my "forwardness"!

I agree about Stina's home...all those rural pictures take me back to my days in the country and I just ;love them.

As for the inside/outside...I don't think that Jo specified that they had to be connected....although I can think of SOME connections I can make with my contributions so far.

They're nostalgic for me, too. My childhood home was in a small town near farming and ranching country. For instance, I was familiar with cattle guards. City people may never have stepped on one.

You're right, she didn't. I was interpreting the challenge as the inside and outside of the same thing, I guess because that's more interesting than the inside and outside of different things.

That's how I interpreted it too. Inside/outside of different things doesn't hold the same creative interest for me. For example, ever since Ricardo posted that shot of the propeller tunnel, I've been looking forward to seeing the "outside" shot.

Not a log cabin, but I love them (I would need a wood floor though).
My house was top of the line in its day. Built in 1951, it's a pretty big ranch style house (all three bedrooms are large master suite sizes) and it had heated floors. It's a really tired house now that has multiple issues most wouldn't deal with. I deal with the harsh conditions because I like the freedom of being out in the country.
You can add mice, rats, spiders, snakes, bugs and birds to my occasional inside visitors as well. :D

I grew up in San Jose, in a subdivision. I love the country and couldn't imagine living in a house again that didn't have at least a few acres with privacy. I'm spoiled (land wise)!!

I can photograph the outside of the buffalo skull and take a picture from outside looking in. I do have one room in the house I really like. :D

Okay guys....that will be one of my "outside" shots, and if I get banned for licentiousness...so be it!:D

I agree about the inside/outside interpretation. Although Jo didn't exactly frame it that way, it certainly adds up to more of a challenge! (Dunno what to do about that leek cross section though...what didn't go into the soup went into the compost heap!)

Yes, our house is interesting inside, but outside it's pretty ugly really...sort of Bauhaus crossed with Kiwi post-modern. It was the spaces inside that attracted us.

Personally though, I'd be just as happy with your piece of country living...probably minus the snakes! I've lived in all sorts of dwelling, from boats to mountain huts, to tents and even for a couple of weeks in an old container....but no snakes so far!

Here, snakes have been scarce so far this year. The deer haven't been around much either, but that's likely because a new neighbor (a newly minted Sili Valley millionaire) up the hill is doing a lot of noisy grading with big earthmovers for his new 6 bedroom "weekend house." The neighborhood is going to hell... ;-)a

Your life intrigues me, Ricardo. If I ever make it to New Zealand, I'm looking you up! :D
I think I could live in almost anything if it's on the right land, I've found that I acclimate quite well to all sorts of situations. As far as snakes go, we have good snakes here. We have only found a few rattle snakes on this ranch (I can only think of 3) and we've been running around these hills for more then 15 years.

We've been seeing snakes around my house like crazy since the first of May, they all came out with the hot weather. I was walking from the kitchen and found a medium sized gopher snake in the dinning room about two weeks ago. That was the biggest one I've found inside so far. :)

We have some doctor that built a multi-million dollar home on the property next to us. We felt really bad when we had to get our steers out of his yard. :o His landscaped yard is not set up to keep animals out and he lives between cattle ranches?
