Richard, John, Stina, OhLook and Richard again: all wonderful interpretations and contributions. You have all been so creative with the theme!

I had the feeling that I more or less cheated my way through this two-weeks theme so I came up with something proper. Problem is I have no idea how to shoot it. But here are two shots of something inside that goes outside.

I took this one with the Powershot 100SX IS as I could not get it done with any of my 'real' cameras! Throwing coins in a bowl of water. It's so weird because IQ is really bad here with tons of noise, but I still like the shot! :D

One thing I've learned from this is that this water stuff is difficult.
Another thing I learned is that in addition to a macro lens, I also need strobes, soft boxes and reflectors. In fact I need a whole studio!!! :D

Wow, that's terrific Levina. Can't wait to see what you produce when you get hold of a macro and lights!

(Did the glass survive?)

Thanks very much, Richard!
Well you know, it's not difficult, but the thing is that to do this right and get clean shots with lovely colours etc. you need stuff that I don't have, including coloured water. So these are not clean shots, and they're very grey because it was done in the kitchen on the sink, but I thought it still worked pretty well. :)

The glass did survive because it was never thrown! You could say I cheated again, but now in a different way! :D

Those are great, Levina! You definitely put some thought into those and I really like the wine glass shot.

My "studio" consists of a flash and white or black poster boards.
On my geode picture I hand held a small poster board to bounch my flash because I took that shot in my kitchen when it was dark out. :)

Thanks very much, Stina. I definitely could use a flash!! I sometimes look at stuff, especially set-ups for product photography, but I never know what to get and so I end up buying nothing. :)

Levina, as often happens, the rest of us like your shots better than you do. The moving water is another creative variant on inside/outside. For colored water, you could use water + food coloring, or fruit juice, or red wine, or coffee.

I find flash useless at close range, but the G15 is good in "meh" light. I sometimes use sheets of poster board as reflectors. They can be clamped to things. The next shot had a big piece of Styrofoam behind the subject, propped up on a couple of handy surfaces. Window light only.

Now, the outside is the inside is the outside is the inside is . . .

Oh, that is very clever, OhLook!! Impressive...

As to others liking my shots better than I do. All this is very new to me and I struggle every week. Hopefully in time I will get more confident. :)

I did think of using tea, coffee or wine, OhLook, but I was doing the shots in my kitchen and when I thought of the stains those substances would make, I decided to stick with clear water. :D

Heres my outside.
Outside of the bend and track, in keeping with my inside.

Nice shot Andy. Motor racing offers some interesting photo opportunities.

Nice one, OhLook!

Fantastic companion to your first weeks photo, Andy. That doesn't look like a good place to be on that track, but it sure makes for a great photo. :)

Outside! One view from our house this morning after the first real winter blast came through! Nothing to what most of you experienced last winter...but this is sunny Nelson!

That looks lovely, Richard. There's no snow so the winter doesn't show. Is it very cold?

What a crowd!

These may have set a new bar for interpretation. ;)
In a good way!

:p

I have been highly entertained. Tho, it was not all that easy to participate for m this week.

I'm working on a new theme... I know Ricardo...it's already Tuesday there... Gimme me some slack. :p

Stay tuned
