New glass is nice, but it's not so spectacular this one, what's so special about this lens, IS ?
A f2.8 + IS would have been better for who shoots of of hand, or Canon's 15-85 fullframe version :)
Tokina allready has the sharpest best price/quality 16-28 2.8 and the 17-40 f4 is not bad either if you use filters.

who wants to venture a guess on the prices of these bad boys?

mine are $1200 for the 16-35f4ISL, and $900 for the 10-18IS

an f4 with like 3-4 stops of IS would be better than an f2.8 without IS for hand holding :)

How can you say it's here on the title when it is still a rumor? Sigh.

In the past, when they get product images they usually have been announced. Except for one or two oddball "fakes", but this one looks legit for both lenses. They don't look off to me at all.

I am guessing $1899 for the 16-35 f/4 IS.

Either way, I want it... Don't care for IS honestly at that wide of FL, but it won't hurt either.

IS is great for landscapes without tripod -- especially in golden or blue hour -- but this lens would have to be more like the 24-70L f2.II than the 24-70L f4 IS for me to be interested because I love my 16-35L II :D

as much as i usually rag on canonrumors.com for their rumors...i think when they say something is coming out within hours, they are always right.

I don't think it would be too hard for them at this point to have amazing optics in an UWA zoom... We can only hope!

I would expect 24-70 II type performance, though. I just hope they don't come out with a f/2.8 14-24mm option a few months later after I get this lens and upset me :D

Aren't F4 IS options typically the same price as the F 2.8 no IS options, historically? If it stays true to that, you are looking at $1699 for it. The 10-18 is a weird choice- the 10-22 Ef-S is optically very good. Wide angle video seems to be the target market here- I'm guessing $699.

yeah I really want 14mm. may have to bite the bullet and get the prime this year. the reason I made that comment about the rumored lens is while the 24-70L f4 IS is a very good lens it's not a game changer like the 24-70L f2.8 II

take a look at the 24-70L II vs 24-70L f4 IS. plus when the 24-105L was first released it was priced the same as the brick.
