Interesting they are giving a free check/clean voucher with the lens if bought through Canon directly.

Oh wow i see that, offer valid till end of June. Free clean and check or no tax...
I'll stick to tax less sale, might have to order from beach camera. (nope beach does not have them on preorder)

I think i will love this lens as a walkaround lens especially inndoors i bet you can shoot at near 1s exposure handheld with the IS! And will also come in handy at events to get few UWA shots from time to time.

I am very keen on this lens, I have held off on an UWA zoom until I need one, and I just picked up some work where I will very soon need one.

The sharpness at f4 of this lens, is looking very tempting - I will probably mainly shoot it stopped down, especially for this new work - but I also shoot sports and PJ stuff, so I can see down the line the f2.8 coming in handy.

Whether or not I can live with f4 + IS with a potential improvement in image quality, and a saving of $400-$500. That is the decision that I need to make, and I need to make it damn fast! So hurry up reviews!!!

Well I lasted 4 days, took the plunge on the 2.8 mk II. Would have been nice to get this new lens, but I think the 2.8 might come in handy for my purposes.

QUOTED IMAGE

Placed it a few weeks ago now. It showed me the 6/13 date for a while and just yesterday noticed that it changed to what I posted. We shall see what happens.

mostly sales tax....close to 9% here. I write the sales tax off at the end of the year, so I don't mind it.
