Portraits are lovely and sharp though :)

Are you referring to which pic. I find this lens is a foolproof lens. In the sense, I always get better pics than compared with other lens.

I think, I messed up composition as there is lot stretching near edges.

Considering you were probably shooting full-wide I'd say it looks pretty good! You could have tilted up and straightened the walls a bit but that might have made the composition worse. One of the great things about this lens, though, is that there's hardly any barrel distortion.

The 10-18 is the widest full frame lens I've had and it does take a bit of getting used to. It takes in so much that it forces you to spend a little extra time on composition and makes you pay attention to what's going on in the background. If the background in a shot looks too cluttered I try to remind myself try flip out the LCD, switch to Live View and shoot downward a bit holding the camera overhead.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

I was cleaning up by backyard earlier today, after the tornado a few days ago, and came across this in the sand on the beach. It must have washed up during the twister. I went in to get my camera and the 12 in ruler. Not sure what this was, but I am glad I did not meet him in the water; look at those teeth. I am really impressed with this little lens.

Sure, the 10-18 is not a portrait lens. But for a casual shot like this I was pleasantly surprised with the result shooting at 18mm. You've just got to pay attention to your framing and not crowd your subject too much.

Not the greatest pic or use of the lens, but this is the original Soup Man location that inspired the "Soup ****' episode of Seinfeld. No Soup For You!!!

Love the images here. Looks like a no brainer to accompany my only lens(50mm STM) on my 20D.
