How is it manual focusing with this lens?

I plan on picking this lens up to use adapted with my Sony NEX-6 using the Fotodiox Pro adapter.

I always manual focus when i adapt my Canon L glass since contrast detect AF is VERY slow, but im just not sure how the STM works compared to USM.

Manual focus seems easy if you can see/on screen. Night shots are difficult if you are trying for infinity since there is no mark.
Worst thing about this lens is the green doubling of light sources, e.g. bright window or interior lights.
