I absolutely adore this lens. It is phenomenal performer in almost every category and it doesn't cost much.
One of my beefs with this lens is the circular polarizer's weird pattern when you shoot at the widest end. At 18mm it isn't that big of a deal.

I picked up a copy of this lens shortly after it released. At the time, my main intention was using it during a trip to Niagara Falls. We stayed in the Sheraton on the Canadian side with a wonderful view over the falls. Watching the fireworks from there was breathtaking, and this little lens did not disappoint when capturing our view!

Since then, I've put it to work for all sorts of situations. I love the combination of its size, weight and IS, which enables handheld shots like this one at relatively long shutters (0.3s).
