I just attempted to shoot RAW + JPG for the first time. When I plug in my camera I only see JPG files. I'm new to RAW capture, so I don't know if there is something special that has to be done to import the files. I figured the files should at least be seen on the CF card.

I'm trying to do some searches to find my answer, but it seems like I am looking for a needle in a haystack. I thought maybe someone here would know what incredibly stupid thing I am likely doing. I did verify that I had the camera (Rebel XT) set to capture RAW.

Thanks for any insight!!!

Nevermind...I found another thread that answered my question. I had the communication mode set incorrectly. Thanks!

A card reader is far easier, in my opinion, than messing with the cable. For a start, you don't need to keep the camera powered to download images with a card reader.
