Zoo shot (skink)

The Long Island Aquarium needed some shots of this and other skinks because they couldn't find any for signage on a new exhibit. The critter will be lifted out of the frame and pasted into a background selected for the signage. That's my excuse for the lousy composition. The shot was taken through glass, which wouldn't be my choice. But these fellows are pretty nimble and good escape artists. So they had to be contained. Lighting was with an aquarium daylight balanced LED array. Still, shutter speed was slow. Hence the use of a tripod and remote release. Quality of the image is not as good as the original because it had to be compressed to fit the 150kb limit.

Considering where you had to shoot it, the light on it looks OK to me. When you lift it out of the frame, you may wish that you could see all 4 feet. ; )

I agree. It was difficult getting in as much as I did. When we first put it in the tank, it settled next to the front pane of glass where the frame blocked out a good portion of the body. We put the twig in to attract it to the back. Maybe the artist will take the twig too for context.
