used mt ex 24

hi folks - quick question -
i have a chance to purchase an used mt ex 24 from an individual.
no warantee.
he says that it wasn't used often.
and physicially in good shape with all the papers etc.

i have had good to great experiences buying used lenses, and larger speedlights from people...but since I have heard of difficulties with the mt ex 24 units, I am not sure if the money saved buying used would justify it.

Anyone with some opinions?

Hard for us to say since we have not seen the unit, nor do we know the price.

My experience is that photographers often ask way too much for used gear. Sometimes they ask more for a used item than you can buy it new. My guideline is that a used item should be around 1/2 of the new price -- and that is rarely the case for items like this flash.

So I would save my money and buy new -- unless the price is about 1/2, and the unit looks good, and you trust the seller.

I was more worried about and delicate parts being problematic in an used unit and even more difficult to discover them.
