Wondering if anyone knows if there was ever a plugin made for use with FCP7, that allowed Log and Transfer of files directly from the card, if not, what method are you using?

H.264 files of course are not ideal for editing with... I have been converting to ProRes; but trying to find a little easier workflow...

Final Cut 7 hasn't been updated in over 3 years and there is no plan to since Apple has released FCX. Technically it is a dead platform with zero support so no one is creating any plugins for it.

I would say stick with your prores workflow if you want to keep using 7, but you should consider FCX or Premiere pro.

I figured out a fix on being able to add my camera to cameras.plist and it now recognizes my card, and log and transfer works now!

I have started migrating to FCPx; but have been using the classic version for over a decade. It is still much faster to push projects out, well... on some things! I still like the platform so much better.

Here's 'one' of the fixes I found (that works) if anyone else is interested.

Thanks for sharing!

I hear ya about FCP7, i still love it as well, but you will be surprised at how easy the transition to Premiere Pro is, minus a few little things.
