Guitar Player shot

Candid shot from a bar the other night.
I'm trying to work on my composition a bit... I feel like the left hand is the
most interesting, and best lit part of the photo, but I don't know if the eye goes there naturally.
Also, the skin tones feel off...probably because I was trying to compensate for all the blue in the image.

Well, the eye normally goes for the eyes. What's lacking in this photo is that he's facing away from the camera. You also cut off parts of the guitar. You're right about the color balance. It looks like too much magenta. If your interest was in the left hand, then this needed to be a larger portion of the image.

Agree with Joe.....for composition, I would add that you have framed the musician too tightly.....need more room on sides and bottom....top is good as there is air/space between top of his head and the frame edge.

So more color correction and:

- either back it out and reframe it for more space around the edges
or
- Get in closer and recompose for the left hand?

I might add, the lights were all blue, so I was trying to compensate for that...
