I'm (5D) looking for a portrait lense: 85 1.8 / 100 2.0 / 135 2.0 ?

I doubt you'll like a 50 on a FF body for head shots. 85mm would be better.

50mm is my lense, when I'll go out with one lense. Indoor the 85mm is a litte too long.

I always found that 85mm is too close to 50mm. In that case & if you love the 50mm length like I do I'd suggest either the 100/2 or the 135L depending on budget. 50mm is fine for portraits but yes it's a little close for tight headshots.

Here is an example.

Comparison images are not cropped, the camera is physically moved to adjust framing.

Personally I would never use my 24L for a head and shoulders portrait, unless it was intentional.
The 50L would be acceptable by shooting in landscape and cropping in post.
Notice the dramatic difference in her eyes between the 50mm shot and the 100mm shot.
The 70-135mm range are all acceptable to me. Therefore my 100L fits in the middle.
In an ideal world I would own a 14L, 24L, 35L, 50L, 85L, 100L, 135L, 200L, etc and use as needed.
After 135mm the example's face become 'too' compressed, flat and her cheeks widen more, undesirable.

Best in quality: 135mm f/2L

Best bargain and bang for your buck?
take your pick of the 85mm and 100mm.

If you have the 50mm, I'd move to 135mm or 100mm

For portraits, I prefer the look and feel 35mm, 50mm, and 135mm give me. I've always felt that the 85mm was in no-mans-land –*but there are plenty of people that make it work for them.

Beg, steal, borrow, rent an EF 70-200 lens. Use it for a while. You need to discover what your prefferd mm is. We cannot help you with that.

This is true; I am a zoom guy and use primes when I need them. However, if you are a prime person you won't want to use a zoom. So, the question you are struggling with is how many primes you need to adequately cover the range. In my opinion, the difference between 50 and 85 isn't big enough to justify 2 lenses. For a long time the established norm was that 35L/85L/135L were the "holy trinity" of canon, although there was a group that chose 24/50/100 as their prime focal lengths.

I am firmly in the 35/85/135 camp - I prefer tighter shots, though. In your position, I would try the 135L (buying used) to see if it suits your needs. If not, sell it and get the 100. You could also spend $100 and rent the 135 to try it out.

The 100 f2 was a fantastic candid, portrait and indoor sports lens for me. Moving up to the 135L from the 135L was something I did to attain IQ on par with my 200 2.8 ii. The difference between the 100 f2 and 135 L is subtle, but it is there.

But your lens used and save. Some photographers will let prime lenses just collect dust because the convenience of their zoom lenses is king for them. Also, Canon has these lenses on sale refurbished from time to time.

In my opinion 85mm on a ff body is a perfect "standard" portrait lens. 135mm is more specific - it's nice, but you can't use it on every job.
