Green-winged & Blue Winged Teal

Both of these teal species have foiled my photographic attempts until this spring. The green-wing I shot this weekend on Lake Superior's north shore and the blue-wing was here at home earlier this season.

Makes me think of Texas-both are plentiful there. Well captured, Al. When sharp like this, the Green Wing's feather pattern almost fools your brain into thinking some kind video interference.

Well done Al. I would love to see a Blue Winged. They are rare visitors to my neck of the woods.

They both look so calm, cool, and collected and congrats on collecting these captures. If they had only known how good you'd make them look I'm certain they wouldn't have avoided you for this long

Found both of these birds on my patch in the UK, the BW teal caused quite a stir as its quite rare over here. Shame my pics were poor.

Thank you all very much for commenting; I appreciate it. Looking back through my archives, I see that I actually had a few decent shots of a BWT from last summer, but none of a GWT. So, I'm rather pleased with my success.

The Duluth end of Superior still has a lot of ice blowing about in the winds, but fortunately for the ducks they can fly. Thanks my friend.

Thank you kindly. The BWT didn't know I was there, but the GWT sure did; I'm surprised he didn't take off.

If you make it to NE IA at all this spring, I'm seeing them almost every day.

Great shots Al, I love the greenwing-then again, I'm biased, GW teal and pintails are my favorite ducks anyway.
