Nice lighting vinz looks good :)
On my eizo monitor vinz's shots look fine and CJ yours looks fine as well, maybe a tiny bit hot on the girls white top but looks good to me :)

i set my brightness to half only(iMac) and i have the spyder4pro express only.

Probably just variation in our ambient light. I keep my brightness the same whether I have my blinds open or not, but edit in very dim light so it's consistent with when I calibrate.

Thanks Paul. For CJ i would say only a bit over. for my taste maybe -.25 on LR.

I always expose for the highlights. If the highlights are just right, i don't care about the shadows because for me shadows will add depths to an image. I'm not afraid of shadows. hehehe. I just like softer shadows though. again, for my taste only.

on my collapsable beauty dish, i pasted a white cotton fabric on the inside part of the diffuser to help diffuse the lights more.

Nice tip about the added liner, I'll have to remember that since some sort of diffuser or reflector is on my short list to get and experiment with this year. Thank you.

My home coffee station:

I haven't seen a Chemex coffeemaker in ages. My parents had one probably 50 years ago but I don't know what ever became of it. Just had a little flashback there... 8-)

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Nice!

May I point out that she seems to have pore-less skin like Lexan, you left the red veins in the eyes...

saw that red veins. there a lot of really thinny tiny red veins there that i'm not sure to be able to fix without destroying it.

i'll give it a shot later.

not sure about the pore-less comment?

Man, EVERY human being has pores on their skin. You can smooth them out, but you 've got to leave something to make it look natural... Like the Mafia says... 'It's got to look like an accident!... Real-like!'

I had this problem with the high pass filter smoothing. Looked unnaturally smooth. I went back to my sharp/soft blend with the healing tool for the more difficult details.:-)

i don't do smoothing though. the smoothness is cause by pixel level dodging and burning.

fixed the red veins but not completely to make it a bit natural, what do you think?
