All of us have seen opossums and to me they're not the most cuddly of Nature's creatures. The little guy shown below wandered into my yard last night just before dinner and I couldn't resist a few quick pics. I couldn't get him to stand still long enough to put a ruler beside him for scale, but he couldn't have been more than 6-7 inches from snout tip to base of tail. For lack of a better term I'll call him cute ;)

Love the toes, sorry about the tail crop.

This is about as cute as he/she got.

Hopefully it will have a successful scrounging, scavenging life and not wind up road kill somewhere.

Nice shots Steve! I guess its kinda "cute". :) Reminds me old the old joke, Why did the Chicken cross the road? ... to show the Possum it could be done! ;)

LOL Craig. That's not a twist on the old classic joke that I'd heard before. Thanks for the laugh and comment.

Cute shots Steve. I haven't seen any up here, but they are probably around.

Craig...that joke is funny! Seriously!

Thanks Sandy. Saw him again late yesterday....actually 1 of my dogs found him/her.
If they were present you'd know it by how many were found dead on the side of the road. Notoriously inattentive/oblivious road-crossers.

Appreciate the nice comment Fred. I don't think this species is found in your region.
