Nicely done Ian, except of course clipping the tail, lol! Do the Eagles get in on the action?

Clipping the tail...haha Bret. No, the cormorants dive for the smelts, the eagles are more active in June when the gaspereaux run.....they are about 3 times the size of a smelt and literally fill the river for the month. At low tide the eagles just wade in and grab one or two at a time. That's what I'm really waiting for.

Thanks Cheryl....they aren't my favourite birds, but they do have cool patterns and looks if you can get close enough to see them. This shot was taken from my boat....happy to get it in the water for the season today!

Wow again, Ian. I can't imagine seeing such an astonishing array of birds as you do. Stunning.

Beautiful composition and capture Ian!
Some people think Cormorants are ugly, but that's because they haven't seen this image. BTW - Did you put in a request that the water color match the eye color? :)

Nice shot of a bird that I have never seen up close-usually I only see them 20-30 yards up and have about two seconds to verify whether they're a goose or cormorant during hunting season. Always wanted to see one close up.

Ha, thanks Steve....that did work out nicely.

I'm the same, they are usually gone by the time I'm close enough for a good shot. And this guy took off shortly after this shot was taken.

Thanks Carol. Interesting, as it was mid-day light, usually not that great. But what a nice day! It was our first 80F day of the year here.
