I'll apologize in advance but I need something specific here, and for 2 purposes -

#1 I need a travel bag for going on a plane, needs to be able to carry the following:

- 1DMkIV with 300 f/2.8 attached and also hold my 70-200 f/2.8, a smaller lens, plus a flash (a second body 1DMkIII would be nice as well)

#2 It would be nice to use this bag just to run out locally with my 1DMkIV and 300 f/2.8 attached to it for quick shoots.

I don't know if such an animal exists but I'm hoping for some feedback from this wonderful community of fellow photographers !

Will the planes you intend to take be domestic flights US only? Or international?

Think tank might be your best option or some of the Lowepro series

Check out the ThinkTank security v2.0 as I believe it's one if not the largest bag approved for carry on on domestic US flights. It also has backpack straps for occasional use as backpack

Strictly domestic and as a carry on. I currently have a Dakine Sequence but it's too big of a bag to use for a quick local excursion.
