I hope some of you super smart MacBook Pro users will be able to help me...

I just made the switch from a windows laptop to a Macbook Pro, and while I am very happy with my decision, I am still working on that learning curve. During this process, I decided to also try Lightroom, which in itself is a far harder process than I anticipated. So far, not a fan. I have been a PS user for years, and find my culling system in Bridge much easier than what I have been doing so far in LR. Everyone raves about the LR workflow and I really want to be a LR user but it is definitely going to take some time and good training, LOL! (Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated...)

So my question is this: just finished processing a wedding, shot with two different cameras. Synced the date/time on cameras just before the wedding so that all shots would be in order when merged into one final file. I backed up all my RAW files immediately and then decided to give LR a try for the culling process.

After culling (2 stars on everything that was good SOOC, 5 stars on those that needed processing in PS) I moved over to PS to run batches, etc. Now that I am finished with all processing, I am checking through them one final time in preparation for disc burn. I am looking at them in Finder, and I cannot arrange them by Date Taken. Date Created is available, but it seems that the Date Created is the date the actual JPEG file was created. I processed each memory card one after the other, so the JPEG files were not created in the order that the photos were taken. When I look at the file info in Finder, I do not see the original date anywhere. When I look at the file info in PS, the date created is the actual date the photo was taken.

I want these photos to be in "order taken" when the bride looks through them on the disc. Any ideas what would be the best way to get them arranged that way? This is only an issue when I use multiple memory cards or process them out of order.

Also, I am just burning by choosing the files in Finder, is there a better burning software out there that I should be using?

I've been a Mac user for 4 years now but started with LR so this issue has never come up as LR seems to retain access to the original creation date. I stopped creating and saving jpgs when I started using LR. I don't see how you can sort by that field in Finder though but I understand your issue.

Here's a potential workaround - import all you jpgs back to LR, sort, and export all of them to a folder on the desktop. Then in finder select all the images in the new folder and drag them to the CD.

BTW - Don't move the files around after they are loaded into LR. LR is a database management package and will lose track of its images if they are moved outside of LR. They can be recovered but it's a pain.

BTW - best answer I found was here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5412985 (external link)
