I can only hope to live up to your aspirations, Bret! You set the bar mighty high, my friend! Waltdo wrote in post #16913668 Well done Thank you so much! Nighthound wrote in post #16913683 Great shot Barry, looks like a great location. About how far away from you is the nest cavity? Steve, The nest is about 30’ high in a dead pine tree on a south facing slope with the nest cavity facing north. This was taken from the high ground (north) looking towards the nest in late afternoon, hence the side light from the west and the almost horizontal perspective. I am guessing the distance of camera to bird here to be about 15 meters. I am most appreciative of any and all suggestions. Hahaha. Yes it is, Craig! Thanks! Ouch! Great comeback, Sam. How can I argue with that? butterfly2937 wrote in post #16913709 Very cute! Great shot and I love the expression. Well done. Thank you so much, butterfly! Barry

Peter2516 wrote in post #16914157 Cool shot. I appreciate it very much, Peter! SJC from VT wrote in post #16914390 How cute, looks like a painting! Thanks, Sandy! I hope I'm not overdoing post processing. The red is so vibrant you really don't have to tweak the color much at all. CamFan01 wrote in post #16914512 Haha Barry, caught the male too! Fantastic timing and congrats on a great capture. See what I mean about light and details? Yes indeed, Steve. I've been working the light/angle as best as I can according to your advice. This may be as good as it gets given the lay of the land/trees/etc. Thank you very much! TedEllis wrote in post #16915532 Great shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much, Ted! Having seen what a fabulous photographer you are, I really appreciate your comment. Barry
