I believe the eggs hatched yesterday or the day before. The feeding begins. They take turns of about 30 minutes each where they fly off to eat and then return to tend and feed the little ones while their mate does the same. How beautiful and fascinating.

LOL! Traditionally (or stereotypically), I suppose one might expect the female to be poking her head out of the nest cavity, and scolding the male slinking home (a little sheepishly) long past his curfew. ;) But you are quite right: how amazing to watch the two parents change shifts all day long. Wonderful shot!

That's an absolutely precious image Barry!
The looks they're giving each other and your caption is spot on. I especially like the surprised look of the female. I suspect we'll be seeing more like this over the next few weeks.....I hope. :)

Great capture. How lucky you are to be able to follow this nesting pair. Great job with this photo.

Awesome! Most excellent that you get to see this. And us also through you! Keep them coming and don't forget the wee ones when they make their appearance. :)

Thanks, depthfinder. I'm so glad you caught the irony of this capture. Good for you and thanks again for your comment!

Thank you again so much, Steve. It's amazing how expressive they can be. If it had been the male slinking in late, the caption would probably read "Where the hell have you been?"

I'll do my best to share this with you vicariously, Craig! As I understand it, in about two weeks the youngsters will be making their debuts. Many thanks for your kind comments!

Much appreciated, Sandy. I certainly hope to capture a few more!

From what I understand, the little ones will be peeping out in about 10-12 days.
