I'm going to NYC with my parents for my sister's graduation, my parent arent leaving the same time ad myself.

I just found out my my stupid ass self bought them tickets two Friday from now, not this Friday.

The cost to change the date is more than them not showing up, and me buying them new tickets altogether. Sign, money out the door.

On the bright side, iat least Ill be able to take some decent pictures with my 1ds mark 3.

But nooooooooooo, some thing had to go wrong.

My shutter is broken, then camera gave a few error 99, and now wont even respond.

Shutter is stuck in a half close/open and it wont even turn on.

Dang it.

Maybe ill have a flat tire tomorrow going to the damn airport, getting delayed and not even make it and just stay home.

TL;DR
Going to NYC
Paid triple for a mistake I made on a flight purchased,
Was going to take my 1ds mark 3 to NYC but the shutter broke half way, no power.

--edit, apparently this is the "sharing know how" yall can delete this if deemed irrelevant.

I totally know that, felt like my day was horrible, but on the bright side we've gotten flights squared away and I still have my g12 and 580 flash :P

Glad the flights got fixed. Contrary to most folk's experiences, I've found that contacting the airline on the phone, speaking with an actual person (and hopefully a supervisor or two), and being polite and accepting that *I* was the one who made the mistake, they are usually really helpful.

Ain't life grand?

Reminds me of a Santa Claus story:

Many years ago, on Christmas eve, Santa had a bad day.

First, the elves demanded a doubling of their cocoa ration. The cocoa manufacturers were have labor troubles and couldn't deliver, so the elves went on strike.

Because the elves' were on strike, Santa had to load the sleigh himself. That sack of toys was heavy, and he threw out his back, putting him in excruciating pain and hardly able to move at all.

When he dropped the sack of toys, the sleigh tipped over and cracked the left runner. This made the sleigh useless for the trip.

He had to go to the storage shed for his back-up sleigh. Unfortunately, the striking elves hadn't kept up with the falling snow, and the storage shed was buried under a 12-foot snowdrift. Santa had to dig it all out himself.

Finally, he's ready to go (only four hours late), when Mrs. Claus decided she'd had enough of him never being home for Christmas Eve and walked out. Her last phone call was to a divorce lawyer, who demanded that she get half of the entire North Pole complex.

Just then, an unshaven, unwashed, cigar smoking angel appears at the front door with a Christmas tree and hollers, "Hey Fatso! Where do you want I should put this here tree?"

Santa replied....

Well, let's just say that ever since that day there's been an angel on the very top of the tree (sort of).

I'm about 7 behind you, and, yes, you're right. My Nana used to quip "this too shall pass" I just had no idea she meant everything.

That's a bummer.

I had an odd day Friday.
First on my away to work the ipod that is in the glove compartment plugged into my car steror simply stopped functioning.
When I went to try and get it all to work again, sitting in passenger seat (with no joy, Ipod is dead) my Cell (galaxy Not II) fell out of my pocket, straight to the pavement and shattered the screen.
So I'm out Ipod and Phone in one incident.

Thanks for looking but that's just the manual, the service manual will show you the disassembly steps, troubleshooting of parts and exploded part number.

There's a few user on eBay that is selling the shutter for the 1d/1ds but I'm pretty sure they don't know one is full frame and the other isn't.

Yeah, wish I could help you, a couple years ago I needed a lens repaired (Canon 85 "L") and someone here pointed to a site where I could download the service manual and I was able to take the lens into a local repair person and get it fixed pretty inexpensively, so hope you have good luck finding one!
