I'm curious. Here are my current desktop specs (or at least they soon will be...as of tomorrow).

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (overclocked to 2100MHz)
1GB Corsair Xtreme Memory Speed/Low Latency PC3200 (DDR400) RAM
128MB PNY Verto nVidia GeForce 6800 (overclocked to 390 core/820 memory)
2 x Western Digital 250GB, 16MB cache, 7200RPM HDD's in RAID 0 (essentially half a terabyte of disk space).

Honestly, with th exception of the video card, this entire setup is now two years old (definitely aging when it comes to computers). Will it still hold its own against PSCS2 and other RAW processing programs (Capture 1 and equivalents)? Granted, I know that you can never have too much memory for photo processing. But, do you think the specs listed above will be enough?

Thanks

I have near the same setup, and I cant tell that much of a difference with the latest computers at work. We have a quad G5 system with 8gb of ram........and its not noticeably faster than my home computer with 2gb ram and an AMD 3200 with filesizes like that of raw files. On video, huge difference, as well as drumscans..........but not with 50mb tiffs.

yeah, I'll only be doing photo editing and not video editing. So, I based on what you said, i think I should be good to go. Thanks :)
