I did factor in the f8 aperature. I'm sure the full frame vs. the crop sensor body enter into this somehow and not sure which was used here(Don't know my pro-bodies). Anyway, think I'll post in another section and see what info I can glean from our astute membership.

I was using a 5dIII. I went to several online DoF calculators and they all indicated a DoF of .04-.05 ft. Or about 1/2" as you stated. I'll try to measure the distance (the chair is still in same spot, as are the flowers), but pretty sure it was around 9 feet.

Edit. Measured. If I was leaning back in he chair, the distances from the front of the lens (working distance) to the flowers and/or perches in the shots are all between 9 and 9.5 ft.

Wonderful series Moose. The Tamzoka is working out well.

Has anyone tried a tube or two to shorten the minimum focal length a bit? (Might not do that much at 550 mm).

years past, I shot hummers with a 300mm and a 20mm ET.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

LOL. Yes, hand-held. About the only things I use a tripod for are landscapes, family shots that I'm in, and the occasional moon shot.
