Question for 20D owners who have upgraded from the 10D

I have a question for 20D owners who have since upgraded from the 10D.
Hey, this camera has now been around for at least a year and a half.

1-Is the AF focus especially in the AI Focus that much better?

I ask this as I do attempt do basketball with the 10D and I find it is
wanting to search and I do miss the focus especially when the shots
are panned from side to side. This is not quite as bad as when the
motion is head on or in about a 20 degree arc. Nonetheless, the
pictures are not quite sharp and in focus.
I only have this problem in low light conditions.

2- Can you actually tell the difference in the noise at 800,1600 and 3200
ISO?

I have read numerous post and article regarding the 20D vs. the 10D. I do question many of the articles as I feel that the general magazine writers might base these on a one-time assessment. Not that I disrespect their findings, in fact I wish I could write, compile, and organize the information the way they do. However, I feel that users, those who have used the 10D and have upgraded to the 20D, have a better feel for their cameras abilities. I also know that many 20D users continue to use the 10D as a back-up. This in itself speaks highly of the 10D as it is still a very capable camera.
I have been looking at upgrading for some time now but, I cannot afford the 1D series cameras. I know that their capabilities beat the 10D's capabilities regarding auto focus and noise handling capabilities ect. 1st hand.
So if you would respond I would much appreciate your comments. I had planned to upgrade but not till I can say that the 20D's a whole lot better and I won't be doing this for another few months. I expect, but only by rumor that Canon comes out with a new upgrade and the price might go down.
Thanks,

I had the hacked rebel which was almont the 10D and I can tell you that my 20D is much better at focusing in low light and has 2 more AF pointd but the hight ISO 1600 and 800 is very impressive and well worth the upgrade. Theyare completly usable not anything like the Rebel

Thanks dbiggs, after palying with one and talking and examining the shots with it The 20d does do a much better job. So I bought the 20 and sold the 10. I wish I could keep both!

I have both. I got the 10D about a month after it came out. Couldn't begin to tell you how excited I was. Then the 20D was announced and I didn't even care. I loved my 10D. Then as I started shooting events, I realized I needed a second body so I didn't have to switch out lenses so often. I got the 20D after Christmas. So, I've had it for only about 2 months. It's a great camera, so much better in low light and it doesn't have a start up time. It is on and ready to go. The 2 mp increase was only a bonus for me. I usually don't need it. But I like so many things about the 20D, I'm glad I got it. I still use my 10D, so I am lucky to have 3 camera bodies for shoots. If I sold my 10D, I think I'd miss it. :)

SuzyView,
Yeh, the 10d was my first DSLR and i lked it. Had the same feelings when I got it. I'll have to start a personal relationship with my 20D now.
