When I was a kid (ok a long time ago) they were plentiful but seems as though they slowly disappeared but in the last couple of years they have been much more numerous and especially this year. Around here they are the very first sign of spring and are the first migrant birds that I see here usually early April and sometimes late March it depends on the year. That is one reason I look forward to their arrival.
