I'll be using it for portraits mostly, 3/4 to full body. The beauty dish will be more versatile in windy situations if you shoot outdoors. The Softboxes will provide softer light to a larger area and not handle the wind very well. It all depends on how you'll be using it most often. I've got the beauty dish and sock and use it all the time outside, but I can't stand trying to wrangle my soft boxes outdoors. If you're shooting indoors most of the time then your choices are dependent on the light you want to put out. InstaGram

I usually have someone with me to help out that could hold the stand. And for the times I don't I've got weighted bags. If it's THAT windy that even the bags aren't enough I probably won't be shooting with a modifier anyway. Body: Canon 5DmkII│Canon M50

May 22, 2014 22:16 | #4 I have both. If you are going to shoot outside a lot, go with the BD. If most of your photography is in a studio, I recommend a big soft box. Canon 60D, 5Diii, 24-105, 24-70ii, 70-200 f2.8 ii is, 580ex, (2)430ex

Great quality at a great price. The ezpro ones open like umbrellas so they are fast to setup/tear down and easy to carry on location. Shane
