There are two nest cavities on the same tree . . . one is about five feet above the occupied nest. This afternoon I watched her go to the upper (wrong) nest entrance. It was kind of pitiful. She looked inside, around, above and back inside. Then she looked below and scampered on down to the right one.
I am starting to hear sounds from the youngsters!

Nice shot. I have a pair nesting somewhere in the patch of woods behind my house, but they are so elusive, they take off as soon as I step out the door.

Thank you for sharing.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Thanks, Phil.
You have a pair nesting outside your house too?
Lucky us!
I'd love to see you share some captures of them!

Thank you once again, Craig. I can't wait to see some little heads sticking out! I hope they aren't as camera shy as their parents are!

Now that is a funny story. The youngsters were probably screaming, "we are here, we are here, we are here!" Can't wait to see them Barry!

Thank you Sandy. My wife was sitting up the ridge behind me and she was about ready to scream out instructions to her too!

Great shot. I'm envious. After hundreds of thousands of bird images, I still have exactly 0 of this magnificent bird.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.
