I took this rose shot using a reflected mirror image of a cloud diffused sunny sky with the rose obscuring the bright sun in the mirror...toned down the detail as well.

Suggestions for improvement would be appreciated... ;)

Good one!

...using a reflected mirror image of a cloud diffused sunny sky

Damn! What a GREAT idea! I don't think I've ever seen that done before!

Nice. This is almost a high-key abstract shot. See how you like it if you clone out the stem. I can see this printed large on a wall.

Frank, you would be surprised what this methamphetamine addicted blind squirrel can come up with, especially as he just turned seventy-one.
Appreciate the kudo's Joe...here's another spin on it!

Twas nothing special...I tilted a mirror tile against a brick on the patio to aim the sun at the tripod mounted camera and
placed the rose between the mirror and the camera to cover the sun's reflection. Used a 180 macro lens at f/32, ISO 100 and SS 1/8 second. ;)

OK, odd man out - I prefer the B&W.

Really nice shot and great idea for the setup.

Wow - lovely image and great idea about the mirror!

I'm afraid that removing the stem however as has been suggested might leave the viewer hanging... wondering how the flower is really there. But would be worth a try :)

C'mom guys, you're starting to embarrass me. BTW, I tried to repeat the shot this morning without the clouds to diffuse the sun...did not work nearly as well.

An understated frame.
