Edited for CamFan(Steve).
A first for me. I was worried I would never see one. Everywhere I went that is supposed to be a favored habitat I could not find them.

Beautiful bird in a classic pose. Wells done. They love peanuts and suet. Put up a peanut and a suet feeder and they are sure to find it!

What a cool catch, John! Their white breasted cousins are one of my all time favorites! Beautiful shot!

Thank you Carol. I live in an apartment in the middle of a metro area. No luck there. I am hoping to get a place at the edge of town to do just that though.

Thank you Brian. We have all three if you look in the right areas. I captured my best shots yet of a White-breasted today, too.

They are definitely little speed demons John so congrats on catching up to this one. You found it almost right side up......no mean feat. Am I being too critical if I mention your background noise?
I'm partial to Nuthatches in general, so I was over the moon when one visited me 2 winters ago.

Thanks Steve. I did not run the shot through PS to knock down the background noise. I need to get into a habit of doing that always. I will be denoising in PS soon.

Very nice, and to find one without a feeding station...even better!

Great shot, John. Just the WB variety here so far this year but I am hoping.

Great shot. They have a very distinctive call. If you learn it you'll hear them almost every time you're in the Sierra Nevada conifer forest.
