This Sharp Shinned Hawk blew in briefly, looked around as all the little birds paniced and flew off, then he departed too.

Look at those scrawny legs, yet such a striking bird!
Beautiful captures including wonderful background colors Ian. Glad you were on your toes as these guys are notorious for sneaking in and out unnoticed.

Wow I am glad he left without a meal. I would hate to witness one of the birds I feed get attacked!

Thanks Steve, I was lucky, just saw this slightly larger bird in the brush....these guys sure aren't very big!

He did land in the brush, but then jumped down to the ground, but all his potential prey had quickly departed the area. Thanks for commenting, Carol.

Wow - I woud like to have that kind of trouble at my feeders!
Really nice series, Ian . . . well done!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thanks Tom, I enjoy seeing the odd hawk in the trees too. This was right outside my kitchen window.
