Maybe a flash would be the answer as your hummers are in your shady backyard. Guess that's where I'm falling down-do not see the noise!?! And as for the ss, look at the DOF thread in Bird Talk-tried some shots like you suggested and ISO was at 3200. I'm not condemning your thoughts here, just experimenting and trying out things. Have had success w/ the flash, but again, so few visits, kinda afraid to go there for now. Rog

I have always agonised with the noise on the 7D though I can't seem to let go of the camera afterthese many years. With some careful processing you can get killer shots of hummies. I haven't tried it yet this year as I am trying to build a studio around the feeder but here is a before and after I had done for someone. EXIF should be intact. After PP: Shreeni

I've changed the file name so if you download to your computer you won't overwrite your original. It's really a pretty nice image and hopefully you can see some improvement. ![]() Gee, I take nice shots! Rog

TedEllis Cream of the Crop More info | May 29, 2014 20:17 | #14 Rog, to take it a step further, it is obvious there is a feeder to the left of the hummer. The red saturation is strong. You can selectively reduce the red saturation on the underside of the hummer. Ted
