very nice shoot Kurt , good for your!
I used to shoot with 100mm and a 430ex with diffuser, I get good result with the setup. I just added the MPE-65 to my lens collection recently, went out yesterday to shoot, however the image look harsh, I wonder if the MT-24ex is the only option to go with this special lens?

Thanks, I would do some experiment with my 430ex again with full power, I was being lazy carrying the flash sync cable with me, and end up using manual mode all the time, however the light condition change so dramatically, I keep changing the setting on the flash, I will follow your idea and test out this weekend.
