Historic and Classic Race Cars - wonderful things and driven a lot harder than you might first think.

Seeing a Silver e-Type push very hard through the bends to only just be caught before it ran out of road, lap after lap, in pursuit of the leaders was a real joy to watch.

And then the ground shakes as the magnificent Classic F1 and F5000 cars come out to play. These are driven with more respect - time has not improved their temperament - but they are still driven with conviction.

Or you can go watch F1 ... Hummmm.

1. #90 Peter Sugden and Andy Wolfe Jaguar E-Type - Bit of a Silverstone cliche this shot, but has to be done on a sunny day. Never worked out how to add motion and have the Club House crisp

2. Where the rubber hits the road or some other such management twaddle :-) This one is the rear end of #52 Daryl Taylor's Chevron B28

3. #52 Daryl Taylor Chevron B28 in all its glory (there was even a crowd!)

4. #51 Robert Thorpe Lotus 51 - Shame the crowd wasn't big enough for all the stands. Taken from the "trench" on the outside of Copse where you really need to be 6 feet 6 inches tall

5. Thought I'd try something arty ... #49 Keith Norris Chevron B49

6. Was impressed by the Triumph at the Donington Historic Festival. Out having fun in the morning sun at Silverstone - #36 Richard Cross Triumph 2000 Mk1. The fact that the quarter lights still work and are open on a sunny morning did make me smile.

7. To the victors go the spoils #19 Ewan McIntyre and Mark Lewis in their Lotus 15 won the 1 hour GT & Sports Car Cup

The complete set are on the web site (external link)where you can also find a link to the current issue of the magazine.

As always CC is most welcomed. No way of getting better if you don't find a lesson to learn from the last time (more management twaddle)

I like the first one and the Triumph, the back drop Silverstone is not great especially for historic races with all the stands.
