Thanks.. lol, no problem. I was using my sigma 2.8 17-50 at 40mm f3.2. My D5100's screen flips all the way around, so I was just holding it up at arm's length (my arms aren't very long btw) while standing by a window. I realize now that wasn't among my brightest ideas..

Almost there, now the focus is on the eye further from the camera. Window light is great, maybe turn a little to have more catchlight in your eyes.
Do you wear contact lenses?
