I use to use a gaussian blur with a black mask and paint softness on the skin but now I have an action that has a blur layer then a texture layer. A lot of times it looks good but sometimes I tone down the texture layer. Is it best to start the edit with the softening then at the end add sharpening or clarity? In this case I added some clarity first then softened. DT...first off I like the image. second...do you have full photoshop? Try frequency separation for you skin retouching. I just learned it and I will say that it is a revelation. If you have time check it out you'll be amazed. Paul
