Awww, is that a tear from the cold? What a little trooper!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

It's melted snow, decided to leave it in as opposed to editing it out, lol

But in any case I have to disagree with you on this - her eyes are tack sharp, not focused on the front of her hair. You can also tell because her lips and teeth (on the same focal plane) are also in focus.

I can "KINDA" see what he is saying. The eyelashes look tack sharp but the actual irises look like the focus is dropping off already... but I don't really see that as an issue because sometimes I pass pictures that have sharp eyelashes where the focus drops off a little on the eyes... maybe it is the matte finish that emphasizes it a bit.. because contrast helps makes things appear sharper and matte makes focus appear softer. Still a very cute photo nonetheless!

There is always going to be a decrease in image quality uploading to here, and my editing style is not to over sharpen eyes, which I think many people do. While eye lashes have hard edges, eye irises do not.

Haha, agreed. Usually the reflections in the eyes have harder edges but your catch lights may just be spilling off more along the edges so there is no definitive edge there. I don't particularly agree with him... just could "kinda" see where he was going with his comment if I look. But that's why I am throwing "kinda" up in quotations. Do you have a flickr account?

No, I don't.

Also just realized I looked at the wrong picture you posted too! I looked at the one in your gallery of the same photo but you had a matte finish on it. The one you posted in this thread did not.. hence my comment about the matte look. I do tend to notice that the images shared from flickr are sharpened a tad more when posted in here, I haven't uploaded here so I'm not sure the of the compression you get from a direct upload

Some eyes are that sharp without editing when well lit. Particularly so in those eating high protein diets.

Well that explains it, since she doesn't like eating healthy food.. :D

I think this is a very good picture. It has an overall softness.....is that intentional?

I know everyone is always pounding sharpness, sharpness....but I think, in some cases, a little softness is the way to go. David Hamilton was very successful making pictures that were a touch soft.

Have to give the credit to my wife, Karissa, on this. I was stuck doing nothing at work when she snapped this shot ^_^
