Advise Please

Hi all any thoughts on these two photos, I playing with a beauty dish on the male, I like how the neck is in shadow, mostly stuff you don't want to see. The female I'd like some constructive criticism on color and general image quality, including posing advice.

Personally I like the guy just the way it is as long as he doesn't mind being portrayed as older and wiser gentleman....

The gal I would like to see more light in the neck area as the discoloration in her blouse and hair is really drawing the attention away from the rest of the photo. These are just my personal opinions.....

I like them. His picture is great.

2) I'm not really sure about it, and I'm not sure why, but the girl's hand looks almost distracting without the fingers visible--like it is not her hand or a hand at all. It could also be that it is not the same tone as her face--it is brighter and lighter.

Just my initial thoughts--i am no professional so take it with a grain of salt. Thanks.

Good point!

Pic 1: love it. Love that he's not dead center and looks like he is slightly leaning towards the left. Kinda gives it an action feel. Lighting seems well balanced.

Pic 2: The one thing that distracts me is her hair--are the roots really that color? or is it a lighting gel that is giving that effect? Either way, I'm stuck there and can't really move onto the rest of the portrait. Also, everything below her neckline seems a little crowded (hair, hand, jewelry, shoulder slits on shirt).

the lighting on both looks ok but the crop on both kinda bug me,seeing only half a hat or a piece of her head missing kinda distracts me,her pose is a bit distracting but the colour and lighting looks good in both.

i personally think that the pink/purple background on the girl kind of washes the image out.

it would think that it might be better with a dark green or dark blue background. something to contrast the red shirt.

I think the issue with the second photo is the red shirt and the pink background, the colours wash into each other..
