Ian ... The shots are beyond excellence, of course, but how did you tell the eagle to perform this right in front of you ... And coming straight at you like that? Are you sure this is not a well trained eagle? 😄

LOL, thanks Linh. Well, I was sitting in my truck, window open so the black flies could fly in, and looking east with a nice low setting sun behind me. I had seen one eagle sitting in a tree on the edge of the water, and hoped that if I waited long enough, he would be motivated to go grab a fish. After a few minutes he did fly down, but then he flew away and IMMEDIATELY, this other guy flew in right toward me and did his thing. As you know, these things happen very quickly. In all I was sitting there less than 10 minutes, and had to leave to come home and see if I had anything worthwhile.

If you are like me, the first thing you did was a LOT of chimping, thinking, "OMG, I think I got it!"

Absolutely fantastic series, Ian!

Amazing, awesome, fantastic! They've all been used and I can't agree more. Thank you, so much, for sharing these lovely shots. Makes me eager to get back to the Susquehanna River to try my luck again.

Thanks all :). It was a lucky combination of light, tide, time of day, wind direction, a hungry eagle, and the presence of enough fish to attract the eagles.
