Our field trip earlier in the week produced a couple more colorful results. I've tried for years to get a Baltimore oriole unobstructed by leaves; this one is just the right balance. And red-headed woodpeckers are always a special treat.

Both fantastic Al, the Oriole I had fly in was only here for seconds and not seen since. He was specifically looking for a feeder I think, he was intent at looking around the red hummer feeder then off he goes

Extremely nice Al in both color and composition.
I'd pay good money to be in the presence of a Red-headed as pretty as that one.

Both of these are wonderful! I've seen orioles this spring, but haven't seen a Red-headed Woodpecker in a long time.

Thank you everyone; I appreciate your kind comments.

I agree the orioles often perch high, so I was glad to find this one at eye level for once. And we have to drive an hour or so to find the red-heads; they are in country where cattle graze and keep the undergrowth down around large trees, perfect savannah habitat.
