I took these the other night in the freezing cold. I need to get something wider than my kit lens, but it serves me well for now.

Here's a random shot from my 70-200 f/4L that I just acquired and love so dearly. :)

in the second photo the building is curving. Should I expect that from my kit 18-55mm lens as well?

very nice shots by the way.

It was curving because of the way the camera was set up. You don't have to worry about that with 18MM on a non-full frame camera. :)

Which lens did you take the second shot with? I have the kit lens and haven't managed any night shots of that quality yet, with or without tripod its grainy and noisy all the way for me at the moment.

The first two were taken with my kit lens. I usually stop it down anywhere from f/8 to f/11 and it seems to be pretty sharp there. Maybe I'm just lucky.
