Gorgeous shots Ian.

My garden in the UK has a sacred heart, but alas no hummers. I have to ask, why "Dirty Pete"?

Congrats on the shows Ian.

Thanks MadJack. :) We just did the press conference this evening. Tomorrow I will be framing the large pieces and working on the small prints.

Thank you Lester. I can no longer imagine life without hummingbirds, lol. If I understand correctly, hummingbirds are not found in Europe? For that I am truly sorry, because they are remarkable beings. I am currently at a point where I hand feed Dirty Pete at a point less than 15cm from my eyes. He drinks and we look at each other. I watch his intelligent little eyes blink and look me over as we try to understand each other. I have seen a lot of close ups of hummingbirds on my computer - some where the eyes are the size of billiard balls - but there is a communication going on in those precious seconds that is so much more than an image. I imagine this is somewhat akin to swimming with dolphins. Sublime...

And lastly, the name Dirty Pete comes from two things: I was calling the two birds that initially arrived at my feeder Pete and Repeat after an old joke. I noticed that one of them, the eventual claimant to my property as his own, looked dirty from a distance instead of looking vibrant. So his name became Dirty Pete (and the other was named Pretty Pete).

Best,

Ian
