Looking to invest in a full-frame camera and want to know what is the BEST price I can find a brand new 5D MKIII?

Does anyone know if Canon will launch a new 5D camera soon. I don't want to buy a 5D MKIII if another new camera is due out soon as I will wait and pay more money. I can use the help of all experts on this forums.

Heya,

Based on what you have, why not wait for the 5D4 to release, and then buy a 5D3?

Cameras are not investments. They only hold value for a limited time. Then they become "bargains."

Either get the tool because you're going to use it. Or don't waste your money and focus on what you have and make wonderful images with what you have.

Very best,

I'm with Mal... your kit seems quite capable.

Does anyone have an idea when Canon might launch a new Canon 5D MKIV camera.? I'd prefer to wait to buy if this camera is schedule for release.

Heya,

Without even knowing what it does? Maybe it's not much of an upgrade. Maybe it will also be the answer to the competition, with a 36MP, and something better than the 6D's sensor for ISO handling. Too much of a gamble to just wait, if you need it. But if you don't need the camera at all and you're just gear-wishing, just wait a while. I'm sure your current cameras take photographs.

Very best,

Based on the rumormill/ typical upgrade cycle of Canon, I'm expecting fall of 2015 that they'll anounce a 5D mk IV. The 7D and 5D upgrades should be pretty sweet for the live view phase AF the 70D has....but everything else about the 5D mkIII is pretty nice. I recently bought one and notice it's the same price with any authorized dealer. Now til July 5th, you get a $200 American Express debit card rebate.

Canon 5D mk IV
EF 135mm 2.0L, EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS II, EF 24-70 2.8L II, EF 50mm 1.4, EF 100mm 2.8L Macro, EF 16-35mm 4L IS, Sigma 150-600mm C, 580EX, 600EX-RT, MeFoto Globetrotter tripod, grips, Black Rapid RS-7, CAMS plate and strap system, Lowepro Flipside 500 AW, and a few other things...

I love the way that the first two respondents to this thread didn't even try to answer the OP's very straightforward questions, but immediately launched into nanny mode.

Neither does this post. And this post is just a nanny post for nanny posts.

Only one post actually contains information for pricing on the 5D3.

So what does your useful post add? ;)

Very best,

Well, it made me feel better, for one thing.

I didn't respond to the OP because his questions had already been answered by davesrose. But if you must know, I would rather have a camera in hand than wait a year or more for the next version. The 5DIII is a fantastic camera. I'm sure the 5DIV will be even better, but the III is here now.

For what it's worth, I got my 5DIII w/ 24-105L and a Pixma100 for $3,300 and change back in late January when Adorama had a great deal going on.

Canon never releases any info about a release, until the camera is in production and about to hit store shelves within a month or two. There is also no set schedule for when successors are released, market pressure, R&D, and manufacturing resources and planning determine those schedules.

If your in Bangkok with GBPounds, with the great exchange rate I just bought it for about £1450 ( included VAT back at the airport). Just to add to that I also picked up the Tamron 24-70 F2 for £500 and the Canon extender X2 £300. Check fotofile (external link). Plus you may can have a deal with them, highly recommended. I was in there just last week, it was heaving with buyers. The 5D3 is a beast of a camera, it kicked my 7D over the horizon.
