BLS, I shot mine against a black cloth background. Flower was held up by a small clamp.

Thanks!:)

Doing things out of the norm is what this is all about. Nicely done Stina!

EastbayGirl and Old Crow -- I'm amazed at both shots. How did you get the black background? I'd like to give it a try.

Pretty neat interpretation Stina. Nice.

Thanks!! I went back and forth on this picture. My shot was of one of my bathroom lights against a white wall, so all I did was crank up the shutter speed.

Nice photos Richard and Stina. Along the same lines --

Very nice OldCrow, I see that we were thinking along the same lines. :D

Here is one (of many) I grabbed last night, which was pretty empty of solid objects ;)

Beautiful, John!

Nothing to fancy here, but the backyard squirrels do get really depressed when this space is empty.:)

^^Nice idea Terry...like when I look in the refrigerator and it's empty!

Whenever I walk into a room one of the first things I notice are the books...and in my own bookshelves I note the empty spaces. (Of which there are always a few as I tend to have several books on the go at any one time.)

So here is an "empty space" from my world...

I got behind by being busy with other things, but I do want to say there are a lot of impressive photos here and in last week's bunch. The bar is rising . . .

Ricardo, that's some book collection there. Talk about broad interests!

Now here's a small amount of empty space; two small amounts, rather. Left, 1/2 teaspoon of space. Right, 1 tablespoon of space.

Good one, Ricardo! It makes me reflect of "spaces" that have for me become empty, Oh Well!

One funny thing is the nice big/tall bookshelves that I had been using for my books as well as my video/DVD collection, filled to the brim, but when I had to leave things behind they got passed on to the family household, they are not empty, but no more videos or my book collection!

I have boxes with videos as well as the books that have survived, it's just not the same!:)

That's sad Tony...I hope you find somewhere soon to unpack those boxes.

But if I do, sure, I'll have subjects for "empty space" photos, but too late for this week!:)

Ah, but I decided a long time ago to take "moments" that want to bring sad looks and turn them into "grin", "chuckle", or even "smile" moments! "Grin and Bear It", as the old saying goes!

Great spaces, Ricardo, OhLook and Joayne!

Sorry to hear about your situation, Tony but it sounds like you've got a good attitude about it. Now...let's see you post up a picture for this week. :)

So here I was thinking: hmmm, nobody is posting anything this week. Yep, right. That's what you get when you forget to subscribe!

Everybody, great shots!

Stina, OhLook, Terry and Richard (with the books), Your interpretations of the theme seem to me so creative, so out of the box thinking. Really great stuff.

Joayne, that is simply beautiful!

Loved your landscape too, Richard. But then, you know how much I admire your landscapes, so that's no surprise! :)
